Screw pump, separate power unit
Our oil skimming and transfer service uses a screw pump driven by a hydraulic power unit at 15,000 PSI. The separate motor and pump allow flexible positioning in the field, including hard-to-reach oil pits. A specially adapted steel skimming plate collects floating oil, which is discharged through a 6-inch hose to storage tanks.

How does the system work?
The system consists of a hydraulic motor coupled to a screw pump. Variable oil pressure from 0 to 10,000 PSI drives the motor through hydraulic hoses, rotating the pump screw to draw in fluids.

Skimming floating oil from pits
The system is designed to efficiently recover the floating oil layer accumulated in production pits. The integrated collector plate draws in oil with minimal amounts of other liquids, improving subsequent separation or dehydration efficiency.

Every operation follows a strict industrial safety and hygiene procedure:

What is the floating oil layer and how do you recover it?
Locally known as natilla, this oil layer floats on water in production pits. Our system uses a collection plate to draw in this layer with minimal amounts of other liquids and transfer it directly to a 500 Bbl storage tank for further processing.
How much can the system move in a shift?
The system has a nominal capacity of 1,500 barrels per 24 hours, adjustable through the Stroker to suit process requirements. For larger volumes, we can operate multiple units in parallel.
Can you handle both produced-water effluent and heavy crude?
Yes. The screw pump coupled to the hydraulic motor handles both low-viscosity fluids such as produced-water effluent and high-viscosity, heavy API crude. Variable hydraulic pressure (0–10,000 PSI) adapts the operation to each fluid type.
What safety measures do you apply?
We follow applicable PDVSA-COVENIN procedures: preliminary job risk assessment (ART), full PPE, a grounding system, spill kit and certified fire extinguisher. The on-site operations trailer/laboratory provides continuous technical supervision throughout the operation.
